Over the past few weeks my heart has been challenged about the reality of a consecrated life. A life totally given to God’s plan with no rights of its own. No person puts it better like Peter in 1 Pet 2:9-10. In this text we as believers are called a royal priesthood a people for Gods possession.

I have come to learn that I NEED to hear from the Lord everyday. Hearing is not simply listening to someone, but it is feeling the direction of the spirit for me in any situation or at any moment and being ready to respond. This is not easy, but this needs to become our lifestyle. The way we seek food to eat each day, should be the same way we seek to hear from the Lord everyday, in fact we should seek God more than we would seek for anything else. How else are we going to make it to the end of this road if the Lord is not directing us everyday. Paul says to Timothy in 2 Timothy 3vs15,’The scriptures are able to make us wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.’ The scriptures are the words of God and the revelation of the scriptures in our hearts when coupled with our obedience to that word will lead us to eternal salvation as it will produce a faith in us that will enable us to push through every situation we find ourselves in. Every week, I hear the gospel being preached, sometimes even every day, but what fruit has that word bore in my life?? It is serious to know that God is speaking to me, and I am sure for many of you it is the same. I realise it is time for me to remain attentive to the spirit of God as this will nourish me in my desire to serve Him. I trust that you will also keep an open heart and be ready at any time to take the step you need to take according to what the Lord is asking you to do. Sometimes it may be as simple as humbling yourself and repenting for an attitude of heart, like being critical. Do not take any word spoken to your heart lightly. God Bless!!
