Before a pilot takes off he draws a line on the map from point of departure to his destination and when he takes off it’s important that the plane is pointed in this direction and that he stays on that line. As the plane is in the air there is something not seen that can take it off direction if the pilot is not careful and that is the WIND slowly but surely the aeroplane can lose direction until it’s completely off. For the pilot to protect against this he has to fly against the wind. It’s the same with our christian lives. It’s so easy to start off well but we can so easily allow small things into our hearts because they are small and they will do no harm, then after a while we find our hearts are becoming hard and we wonder where it’s coming from but it’s usually what we consider to be small that contaminates our hearts. Flying against the wind is more like the cross, allowing the Lord to deal with our lives constantly keeps us on the right route and this is the only way to reach the destination because the most important thing is how we finish not how we started.
