There are times when i feel far from the Lord and going to worship is a burden. However i am realizing that “worship is simply giving God His worthship”. You can come in whatever state you are in and give God His worthship. God is more concerned with our coming than our state. In Leviticus we have five different sacrifices a worshiper could bring to God these are a picture of the different state of heart we can come with into the Lords presence. We have the burnt offering (Lev 1) this is picture of a heart recognizing Gods work on the cross knowing that without that we are nothing “in the cross we stand and boast”. Then there are times we come with a grain offering (Lev 2) a heart thanking God for his goodness and mercies in your life. At times we have a fellowship offering (Lev 3) a picture of a heart longing for fellowship with God “as a deer pant for waters our soul thirsts for God” (Ps 46:1). At times i bring a sin offering (Lev 4) a picture of a heart knowing its shortcomings and sin before God but longing to be restored to Him. And at times a guilt offering (Lev 5) a picture of heart far from God convicted by the Holy Spirit of its ways of sin unknowingly done rebuked and chastised but longing to be reconciled to God. From this there is one thing i realize God wants us to come in whatever state He will meet us and accept us thats amazing. Don’t rob yourself any longer in whatever state you are come and give Him worthship He will accept it.
