For the enquirer (Is Jesus really necessary, what did he do)

I had lunch the other day with one of the most earnest enquirers of the Christian faith. This man was not saved but earnestly desired to know the nessecity of Jesus in his life. I looked into the scriptures and saw 10 things he has done for humanity this list is not exhaustive but it is a starting place for any enquirer to know Jesus Christ.

1. ‘He gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age…’ (Gal 1:4)
2. ‘He rescued us from the domain of darkness …’ (Col 1:13)
3. ‘Delivered us from slavery in our lives…’ (Heb 2:14; Rom 8:15)
4. ‘…Deliver those who fear death….’ (Heb 2:15)
5. ‘…Released us from our sins…’ (Rev 1:5; 1 Tim 1:15-16)
6. ‘…. Saved from the wrath of God through Him’ (Rom 5:9; 1 Thess 1:10)
7. ‘… He reconciles us to God…’ ( 2 Cor 5:18-19; Jn 14:6; 1 Tim 2:5)
8. ‘… He purifies us from our sins…’ (Heb 1:3)
9. ‘…Brought a living & imperishable hope…’ (1 Pet 1: 3-4)
10. ‘…He brought life & immortality…’ (2 Tim 1:10)

So unless one accepts Jesus and gives Jesus his heart and life he is still in danger in the present age; he is still in darkness & subject to things he cannot see; his life is in captivity & is still in his sins. Even if one is religious without accepting Jesus he is not worshipping the true and living God. Thus he is at emnity with God seperated from God, he is fearful of death because he is subject to face the wrath of God. He has a perishable hope when he dies so does his hope, one without Jesus cannot partake of eternal life. A relationship with Jesus is at the core of the christian faith. Christianity is about Christ.
