Time Management – 11 – Get Organized

Time Management – 11 – Get Organized

clock-2.jpg

This morning I left home twenty minutes late because i couldn’t remember where I had left my phone. As a result I missed the 7 O’clock bus and I had to catch the next one which only came twenty minutes later and by that time the traffic had doubled. Consequently I ended up getting to work very late. Twenty minutes turned in to an hour. This made me realize how being disorganized can lead to a lot of time waste. One of the major time wasters is lack of organization of our physical space. We spend so much time trying to find things, our socks, a pen or an umbrella for example. This often leaves us angry and frustrated and we waste even more time trying to calm down!

Make sure that you organise your physical space. Have a little library where you keep all your books and stationery. Organize you clothes the night before so in the morning you are not pulling you hair out trying to find something. Allocate a specific place for everything. Also make sure that you put everything back in its place after use.
In the office file your papers in labeled files or folders so you know where to look when you can’nt find something. Put away papers and documents you are not using so that your desk is not cluttered.
If you are having a meeting prepare an agenda of what is to be covered. This will help you not to go off topic and therefore waste time on issues that are not relevant.
Organize you finances by drawing up a budget. This will help you keep track of your expenses so that you don’t find yourself in the middle of the month running around trying to find money.

My dear friend these are just a few examples that I have seen in my own life. There are many ways we can organize or reorganize ourselves to save time. Remember organization = efficiency.

God Bless

Time Management – 10 – Invest well

Time Management – 10 – Invest well

clock-2.jpg

Hi everyone.

We often don’t realize how much time is worth. Time is a blessing because it gives us the opportunity to do the will of God. It has a value to it. Imagine you have money in the bank but you don’t know exactly when it will run out. You will obviously be prudent in your spending. This I believe is the reality of life. Each one of us has been given our hour upon this earth. How long? Only the Lord knows. This is why we need to be wise to ensure that we get the most out of our time. In many of Paul’s letters to the churches you sense urgency for the people of God to grow spiritually. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27. Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

Our time is valuable. If invested properly it will yield very good results. A businessman will invest his money in the bank that will give him the highest interest. He will search for that bank and when he finds it he puts his money there and waits in expectation knowing he will get some interest. A student who invests time in studying will pass the exam As Christians who desire to grow spiritually we need to invest our time in things that will add value to our spiritual growth. As you plan your free time ask yourself the value of what you have set out to do. Plan your day with the Lord. Ask him to guide you in all you activities.

God bless

Time Management – 8 – A little encouragement on prayer

clock-2.jpg

Time is a resource that God has given us. The Lord allows us to decide how we want to spend our time. It’s like the parable of the talents Matthew 24: 14-30. When the master went away he left each servant with an amount and a choice. On his return each one had to give an account of what they did with the amount entrusted to them. Read the full story
