Cameroon Missionary Trip - 6

10082007020-2.jpg

My first proper trip whilst in Cameroon was to Buea. I believe they are 10 provinces in Cameroon of which only 2 are english speaking, Buea is a town in one of those 2 provinces. To my surprise it had a cool climate and was damp, similar to the town of Curepipe, Mauritius in early winter. The town is just a few kilometers from the foot of Mt Cameroon, a 4000 m high mountain. It is often in the clouds, but when u see it, its breath taking. We had come to see brother Genesis, a pastor who had attended the ctmi conference 2 years ago and opened the door for the first ctmi conference in Douala in 2006. We had a good time with him, and he had the big part of organising for us to see a papa (elderly, and wise men of God who are very respected by the Christian community of Cameroon) when we went back to Douala. We also had 2 meetings with the local pastors of Buea to encourage them to be at the ctmi conference with Brother Miki and the team in November. Whilst on that trip i was ill for the first time with a stomach bug for about 3 days, it wasnt pleasant, nor pretty, but i new it had to happen!
