Chronic Fatigue

bible.jpg

Recently I began a born-again life, God changed a lot for me and my priorities and lifestyle got turned upside down! It was amazing, but recently one of the things I’ve struggled with so hectically is laziness. Getting up in the mornings is still such a sluggish mission. In my heart I want to spend time with God but first thing in the morning the last thing I feel like doing is opening my bible or praying. I know I’m not the only one because we’re all human – and the human body does not like to serve the Lord – fact!

I know in my head how much God has done for me but I pray that God reveals it to my heart more and more to give me the motivation, so that I can’t wait for the next day to begin to that I can deepen my relationship with God again.

I’m so challenged when I think how willing and motivated I am to get up early for my favourite hobby or sport – no problem! But I want to put God first. I can’t do it in my own strength. I can try! but at the end of the day I have to rely on God’s supernatural strength to save me from this lazy flesh!

Hey I think that’s something we all struggle with. I find that when I have a spiritual day, ie. read my bible; pray; share my faith, then I feel good, but if I have a ‘lazy’ day, then I condemn myself. I know this isn’t how God wants me to live. Ultimately I’m focusing on myself and my own abilities, and there is never enough that I can do for God. When I focus on Him and what He has done for me out of love, then I have peace and I can serve Him without guilt or obligation. I pray that the Lord will help us all with this… we need to serve Him in freedom!

Yes guys! God has called us to serve Him with all our hearts with no regard to our circumstances! Read in the Book Ecclesiastes 12:1
    Remember your Creator
in the days of your youth,
before the days of trouble come
and the years approach when you will say,
“I find no pleasure in them” Read Proverbs 12:23-25: A prudent man keeps his knowledge to himself,
but the heart of fools blurts out folly. Diligent hands will rule,
but laziness ends in slave labor. An anxious heart weighs a man down,
but a kind word cheers him up.

Laziness is very much discouraged in the Bible, we have to obey what the LORD wants us to do because He knows what is the best for us.

    Proverbs 19:15-16
    Laziness brings on deep sleep,
and the shiftless man goes hungry.
He who obeys instructions guards his life,
but he who is contemptuous of his ways will die.

My friends, it is another opportunity the LORD has given us to live to serve Him, mind you there is no more time to waste!
    Stay blessed,
    Jonjones, Dar es Salaam-TANZANIA
