Leadership

It’s been hectic being here and many things have needed to be done and accomplished and normally when we chose to serve Jesus and we are in a group, there is going to be a leader. Many times I have thought leadership was based on ability and capability more than anything else, but from being in a home cell team, lunch team etc. and being under a leader, it’s clear leadership is first spiritual, our relationship with God. In the bible we see many examples of leaders such as Nemiah, King David, Moses and Apostle Paul. From all these and many more I see that for them firstly they sought God at all times and wanted to please him and from that their capabilities and abilities flowed. But for me, the greatest example is Jesus. He too sought to please God and with only twelve men to start with to spread the gospel, fed five thousand people, and accomplished many spiritual and natural tasks. As a leader Jesus was willing to serve others (John 13:5) and to lead by example at all times and not only when it suited him. So I have been greatly challenged by being in these teams and to serve God through what I am doing - Be it leading others or being led. As young Christians we always must be in relationship with God, and through that we will be able to accomplish what is before us.
